[Jacques Lacan], Seminar on "The Purloined Letter" pronounced the 26 April 1955 during the seminar The ego in Freud's theory and in the technique of psychoanalysis was first published in a rewritten version dated mid-May, mid-August 1956, in La psychanalyse No. 2, 1957 pp. 15-44 preceded by an "Introduction", pp. 1-14.
