Lutécio Mirroring SubSystem
Lutecium preserves local copies of a number of sites devoted principally to psychoanalysis, Jacques Lacan, topologia, e campos relacionados.
The purpose of this mirroring subsystem is both practical and archival: to facilitate access to valuable material and, when appropriate, to preserve material whose original site may later become unavailable, unmaintained, or substantially modified.
Status of the mirrors
The mirrors do not all have the same status. They should be understood according to the following categories:
- Actively maintained mirrors — copies that continue to be refreshed from their original sites.
- Historical snapshots — mirrors intentionally preserved as a record of a site at a particular period and no longer regularly refreshed.
- Archived sites whose original source is no longer maintained — copies retained because the original site has disappeared, ceased to evolve, or is no longer actively maintained by its author or organization.
- Technically incomplete or difficult-to-maintain mirrors — sites whose operation depends heavily on dynamic requests, external services, scripts, databases, or other mechanisms that cannot always be reproduced reliably by a conventional mirroring process.
The status of an individual mirror therefore indicates whether it should be regarded as a current copy or as an historical archive. An old mirror may remain valuable even when it is no longer synchronized with its original source.
Mirroring policy and robots.txt
The mirroring system on Lutecium respects the crawling directives published by the source site in its robots.txt file. Paths excluded there for automated robots are not intentionally collected by the mirroring process.
O robots.txt file is regarded here as the technical instruction published by a site administrator concerning automated crawler access. It should not, however, be confused with a general statement concerning copyright or republication rights.
If the administrator or rights holder of a mirrored site wishes to discuss, modify, suspend, or remove its mirror on Lutecium, please contact the Lutécio Webmaster.
