Just today I received a book by a man who seems to bear his name rightly ⁽¹⁾, To psychology and therapy of neurotic symptoms, A pair. Muthmann ⁽²⁾. It focuses on the way the words "a study based on the theory of neuroses Freud". M[Uthmann] was assistant in Basel. This can not be a coincidence; a Swiss as he seems indeed to have more courage about a German free. The book is good, beautiful case histories, good results, dignified and modest; I hope this is a solid contributor manifested here. Perspective it is still lacking, it addresses what has been found in 1898 like new, he said not a word transfer.

I therefore take the word about the magazine. You agree more its necessity; we do miss little readers. Do not give ourselves a period of hesitation too long, in the fall 1908 about the first issue. Of course, you hit the nail with your observation on outpatient cases. According to their customary way of life experiences, reality is too close to women to believe in fantasy. If I wanted to organize my statements according to the indications of the maids, it would come out as negative cases. This behavior also agrees with other sexual peculiarities of this class; informed people assure me that these girls are easier coitus for example look undressed. The chance of treatment consists in that first learned so much in other cases they can tell their story themselves to these people, without waiting for their contributions. In the pause since my last letter I have been very busy, so that I am now quite diminished. At the end of last week, Claparède ¹, director of the laboratory of experimental psychology in Geneva, came to me to be introduced to the technique of association experience. Your teachings have firmly taken root among psychologists Geneva, even if everything is not yet digested. The following result of visiting Claparède me back, it is true, I mainly : C[laparède] now wants to publish

in Archives of Psychology a great presentation ENSEM-ble ^[2] all of my work. This would again cause a symptom that is running. Flournoy ^[3] also looks at the extraordinary thing. Next week I have to go for ten days in Paris and London. I will give this opportunity to visit Janet and I interviewerai about you.

You do me great pleasure naturally annotating my case, because there is only way I can see how you approach a case, what you see as important and how you abstrayez more general rules. I totally agree with you when you say that the cases are not sufficiently penetrated. Undoubtedly they are not. But in the dem. praec. we learn to be content with little.

It should complete the first case, that the transposition of the brother. The morning of the wedding of her brother she suddenly had the idea to jump over a large gap pipe, four meters deep and has made a distortion pedis.

Today I bring you the following case :

Woman of thirty-six. His father was a dark character, oppressed family. As the patient she sided with the mother, which he confided his grief. It thus became friends.
