I did it without the knowledge of my own volition

How many syllables in a signifier? How to name a missing signifier? What is the nature of the skin separating signifier and signified? And separating truth and knowledge?

Relationship between signifier and concept

Corpofreudiano France and Topologos joined for a session of the laboratory of the concept. Its object was the concept and the signifier. Here we present excerpts. Specifically what enters the notion of “disputation” that exists in latin and English among others. But not in french. This term proposed by Henry Fontana is opposed to discussion which in latin denotes the crash of the other. Here we are inaugurating by this term a process of dialectical progress. Thanks for returning your perception of this work.

We have written an amplification of this dialogue in pdf at http://lutetium.org/uploads/topologos/a18062803.pdf

Manipulations of knots, strands and surfaces

An animated discussion during which are evoked different structural conceptions of knots. Topological objects are confronted with the psychoanalytic clinic.

Topologies of the object a

“I shoot 7 on a single strike” It is through this signifier that the tale of the Valiant Little Tailor of Grimm opens. We illustrate how a signifier is the bearer of a special power. What can be induced for each signifier?

Topologies of the object a

Among the topological considerations of the object a, We focus today on its nodal approaches. The number of consistencies (number of rounds of string) conditions the structure.

  • One consistency: the knot of the paranoid
  • Two consistencies: the knot of the fantasy
  • Three consistencies: the knot of neurosis
  • Three unwound consistencies: schizophrenia
  • Four consistencies: the knot of the sinthome

The fundamental polygon

Lacan has accustomed us to display the constituents of the subject on topological structures. Here for the sake of simplification (!) We present these structures in a singular way, a rectangle. It's the fundamental polygon.
This concerns the sphere, the ring of Moebius, the cylinder, the disc, the projective plane, the torus, the Klein's bottle. A consequence is that this session is rather austere …

The logic of fantasy #4 The first Other is the real body

This is the fourth workshop on the seminar The logic of fantasy. The very first Other is the real body. Then it is pierced by a signifier which inscribes its indelible mark on it.
The number Lacan uses is not the golden proportion, let's name it “the Lacan's Number”
Many hesitations but a small finding (for me) …
